Rationale Publishing help

Hi I'm new to the forum. I have been asssigned the task of exporting Specs from Doors into a word format using Rationale. I am having trouble with the word output. I am basically using the brute force method of doing the exports. Does anyone out there know where I can find some help in using the
Rationale tool to make the word document look like what I want. I have created the template content page, master page, and body page. In using these there are many quirks I encouter like trying to get two para's to appear on the same line and such. I could go on and on but I am generally looking for a good help file like the "Word for Dummy" type books or someother file(s)that explain everything in detail. The help file in Rationale leaves a lot to be desired. This document will become the master for all of our specifications here at Hamilton Sundstrand so I need to make this work.

thanks

I do not use RPE.

You may be able to get help at this forum

Hi,

Would be nice to know what version of DOORS are you using as there are two variants of the Rational Publishing Engine (RPE). DOORS version 9.3 includes a light version of RPE - otherwise you're using the full version of RPE as an integration to DOORS.

Have you seen IBM's on-line documentation for the full version of RPE (click here)? This may give you some clues on how to use the lighter version - it has a "Getting Started" link which might help to get you up to speed quickly.

Paul: I'm using DOORS version 9.3. I went to the web you posted it does seem to have some good tips but I'm looking for something a that really tells me more about creating or generating certain tasks. For example I have the template and I want to put certain field(s) in it. Is there any type of help that would describe exactly how to do this?

Thanks
Jeff
